David Rosado (b. 1976) is a portuguese post-pop artist, who lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal.
David Rosado has a degree in Visual Arts (Painting/Multimedia) from the University of Evora, in Evora, Portugal.
David's work is inspired by popular culture and childhood icons, like the dwarfs from Snow White, and Willy the whale, which lets the viewer immerge into childhood memories. Rosado is creating a false sense of puzzle through the incorporation of elements like "painting by numbers" (Malen nach Zahlen) and generally through his fraction-like painting methods. It can be noted that his paintings always seem to show merely an extract of a total image. His art evokes playfulness as much as a joy of colour and demonstrates an eye for detail.
